When the train derails

It's 6:15 am and I have yet to read my scriptures. This is actually a problem for me.

Why? you may ask. It's early still!

Yes, well if I don't read them before the troops get up it's really hard to get it in. And the troops will be getting up any minute. Except for the baby. She woke up at 5. And that derailed my morning a bit. She's back to sleep now, but I'm all off schedule this morning.

So I will have to redouble my efforts today and sneak in my scriptures this afternoon.

I know that if I don't get it together quickly, then one slow morning will lead to many slow mornings and then my whole entire train of goals will come completely off the tracks.

How do you keep yourself on track despite minor disruptions?

(Seriously, please leave a comment and let us know! I'd love to hear all wisdom you closeted readers are harboring.)

Ummmm... I found myself reading the scriptures online during my lunch hour. I locked the classroom door and tried to concentrate over the sounds of students banging on the door... I also found myself on the tread mill yesterday while holding my brick of an eight month old. Good luck! :)

honestly, this challenge is how i keep in track in spite of disruptions. i have a scheduled time to do both exercise and scripture study. like you, it is early in the morning. but some nights i am up WAY too much with kids to consider rising early. some times i get up early and so do my kids. sometimes i have to be ready for an early appointment . . . you know what i mean.
participating in this challenge forces me to look for other times and ways in my day that i can exercise and study the gospel. sometimes that means that i'll listen to conference talks while i take a walk or do housework. if i miss my morning workout and the weather is nice, i put my kids on bikes and in strollers and we all go for a walk. or i pull out my yoga mat and turn on the yoga workout that i tivo from the byu channel. but i am committed to do both (mostly) every day, so i have to fit it in somewhere.

The HH challenge definitely helps me to keep on track! (Thank you Michal!)

So far, so good. We've had school delays and cancellations because of weather this week, so it's forced me to arrange my schedule differently. I got in my scripture study every day, but had to skip a shower once. Luckily, my goal is not to be squeeky clean every day. ;) Maybe next year...

I didn't know how to answer this so I thought I'd wait for other suggestions. I realized after reading Michal's, that the challenge keeps me on track too!

That's why I love it.
