Day 2- Tuesday

"Early to bed, early to rise
Makes a man healthy, weathy and wise"
--old proverb

Your goal may not be to get to bed early, but I know that early to bed and early to rise makes me much more likely to achieve my goals. If I'm up too late, I'm much more likely to sleep in, rather than starting the day off with scripture study, or to take a nap instead of a walk mid-day. So although I don't mention bedtime in my official goals for this challenge, it will be a supporting goal for me to be in bed before 10pm on weeknights.

Be sure to leave a comment, reporting on how your day went. You can go to yesterday's post to leave an update on Monday.

Right on schedule. Ran in the drizzle this morning. Ate my veggies. Spinach, lettuce, cucumbers, oranges, apples, and bananas. Since it's night here I still have saved my treat for last and scripture study. I'd better get on that now.

oooh, christine, since you are so many time zones away from the rest of us, i'm going to start scheduling the daily post to hit at 1am my time (since it's already posting while i'm fast asleep anyway, it won't make a bit of difference to me!)
it's great to check in in the morning and see how much you've accomplished.

I did great today. Went to the gym for an hour, read my two pages of scriptures and I think Mom and I planned a whole week and a half of meals.
We went to the grocery store, bought baby carrots for snacks, oatmeal for breakfasts, bought no chocolate or cookies.

great job, becky!
i on the other hand, had a less than stellar day in terms of my goals. i did not get any exercise to speak of. i had four servings of fruits and veggies, which is almost but not quite my goal. and although i read the scriptures, i kept getting interrupted and never finished the first chapter. doh! i'll read a bit more before bed, but i have too many things to do before then to run to the gym now. there goes my one day off, i guess.

I went to the gym with my slavemaster. Now I am so sore I can barely move (Wed am) I didn't drink enough water (and here may lie the problem). I also did not write down what I ate, but at least I do know that I did a good job with my eating.

Now I will go and drink a lot so that I can move again....

First time I commented did not give me an option to have follow up comments sent to me. This message is just so that comments are sent. Ohhh, I am soooo SORE!!!

Darn husband's homework kept me from updating again...not that his schoolwork is unimportant, but it is...

I met my goals yesterday! Exercised for 30-40 minutes and read scriptures.

Michal, I could kiss your feet for starting this!

Haha, just found out on Monday night that we're expecting #4 and the word verification is "pushe".

rebecca, congrats on growing your family. this challenge is sure to help you stay on track and have a healthy pregnancy. good for you!

debbie,
i need a slavemaster right now. i am having a hard time really pushing myself for a great workout.

i also want to report that i did read two chapters of the book of mormon before i went to bed last night.

Rebecca, I love funny word verifications.

I didn't eat out yesterday, even though my husband has been gone for 5 days and we have 2 extra kids living with us and we had to pick hubby up from the airport last night. I wanted to just grab some Taco Bell but threw together some quick french bread pizzas instead.

I didn't get out (besides the airport) but I'm going to the temple tonight (YAY!)

I also didn't read my scriptures yesterday! I knew that would happen after hubby got home. I'm going to read them at the temple tonight and then I'm going to try reading them in the morning while hubby is in the shower.

I exercised for 30 minutes (ran 2.5 miles). It felt really good. Afterwards I was so hungry- craving carbs like crazy. I didn't get my 5 veggies in. I did get to read once I got all the boys to bed which was very nice.

liz,
i am so proud of you for making dinner in a pressure situation like that. good girl!:) i'm glad you have mr. hotness home again, even if it makes it harder to do your scripture study.

julia--those veggies are harder than i thought they would be. i guess i need to start having a big salad at lunchtime. good job on the run!

Got everything but the scripture reading (obviously there is a reason I have this as a goad, I am not so good at it!) and FHE did not happen again because El Guapo ended up going to help with tithing settlement after work.

Did some reading. Other stuff, failed. Had a girlfriend over and ate too many servings of brownies. I almost cheated and called that "one treat," but I think I grabbed a couple handfuls of M&Ms that day, too.

I read my scriptures and ate well. I did not excersise and was so exhausted from the previous days that I took an hour and a half nap! I did however start taking iron pills so that should help me stop being exhausted after I work ou.

Going to bed earlier would really save me. It looks like people are doing well with their goals.
